BSB51918 Diploma of Leadership and Management

Course Description
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements.

They plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.

Licensing/Regulatory Information - No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

The Diploma is ideal for those:
  • Seeking a pathway from a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management.
  • Aiming to advance their career to a management position.
  • Workplace Trainers and Assessors with industry experience within the sector wishing to train and assess in this vocational area.
  • Employees of organisations for whom leadership and management training is required.
  • Individuals, small business owners, managers and administrators who have chosen to improve their skills.
  • People with disabilities or injuries requiring a change in career and those returning to the workplace.
Further training pathways from this qualification include, but are not limited to, the Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership or the Graduate Certificate in Leadership Diversity or Higher Education.

Course Content
This course requires the successful completion of 12 units of competency ( Units ).

The 12 Units must be made up of 4 Core Units plus 8 Elective Units.

  • Complete a Pre-course Evaluation conducted by Group 314 to determine suitability for the course.
  • Have recent and credible business/industry experience.
  • Have access to workplace leadership and management roles.
  • Have access to workplace policies and procedures.
  • Have access to a live training and assessment environment.


Duration
1200 hours over a period of 12 months.

Some students may be able to complete the course in less time through demonstrated prior learning.

BSB42015 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management

Course Description
This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level provide leadership, guidance and support to others. They also have some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of their team.

They apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

Licensing/Regulatory Information - No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Course Content
This course requires the successful completion of 12 units of competency ( Units ).

BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety

Course Description
This qualification is suitable for people working in a Work Health and Safety ( WHS ) role who work to provide leadership and guidance to others and have some limited responsibility for the output of others.

The qualification reflects the role of workers who apply a broad knowledge base and well developed skills in a wide variety of contexts and may include coordinators, advisors and facilitators.

This course is suitable for workplace roles such as:
  • WorkCover Inspector.
  • Work Health and Safety Technician.
  • Work Health and Safety Officer.
  • Safety Representative.
  • WHS Coordinator.
  • Workplace Safety Contact.
  • Rehabilitation Coordinator.

The 10 Units must be made up of 5 Core Units plus 5 Elective Units.

  • BSBWHS403 Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS consultation and participation processes.

  • BSBWHS406 Assist with responding to incidents.
5 x Elective Units
  • BSBCMM401 Make a presentation.
