Over five days, you’ll explore essential topics such as communication techniques, business structure, and product knowledge. You’ll also learn how to develop well-informed recommendations and conclusions, and put your skills to the test with practical scenarios and assessments.
Course Information
This course develops competency to communicate in a business environment. It is for workers in a leadership and management role within an office environment.
This course requires the successful completion of:
- BSBXCM401 Apply communication strategies in the workplace.
- BSBLDR412 Communicate effectively as a workplace leader.
The course content is:
- Day 1 - Communication theory and strategies.
- Day 2 - Writing business documents.
- Day 3 - Using MS Word and spreadsheets.
- Day 4 - Verbal communications / presentations.
- Day 5 - Using field communication devices such as radios and satellite devices.
Training is provided using a mix of theory and practical sessions whilst developing communication skills in a business environment.
Nationally Recognised Training ( NRT ) under the Australian Quality Training Framework ( AQTF ).
This course requires students to complete a variety of assessment activities.

- Competency Observation (1)
Students are required to be employed in a leadership and management role and have prior skills and knowledge working in business environment. They will therefore have experience that qualifies as RPL. RPL will be assessed and supplemented by gap and/or refresher training as required.
