Provide First Aid

Course Description
This course is for those personnel required to provide first aid response to a casualty. It applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. The course is contextualized to suit the needs of clients i.e. training and assessment scenarios will be aligned where possible to those that are most likely to be encountered.

The recommended industry standard to maintain current competency is for this course to be refreshed every 3 years, with the CPR component to be refreshed annually.

This course requires the successful completion of:

  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid


Recognition
Nationally Recognised Training ( NRT ) under the Australian Quality Training Framework ( AQTF ).

Certification Type
Statement of Attainment.

Course Fee
Per Student Fee

  • $350 ex GST (two-day standard course).
  • $225 ex GST (one-day re-certification course).

Per Course Fee (up to 12 Students)

  • $3,000 ex GST (two-day standard course).
  • $2,000 ex GST (one-day re-certification course).


Entry Requirements
Students must:

  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of enrolment.
  • Have an email address and access to a computer with an internet connection.
  • Complete a Pre-course Evaluation conducted by Group 314 to determine suitability for the course.
  • Have good language, literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Physical ability to provide first aid.


Duration
Standard Course - 16 hours completed over two days.
Re-certification Course - 8 hours completed over one day.

Training Strategy
Group 314 prefers to use practical face-to-face training for this course to ensure students are confident to provide first aid in real life. We utilize a scenario-based approach to training and assessment to ensure the course is relevant and effective for students.

Standard Course - This course is conducted over two days. The first day is focused on practical hands-on training and the second day on assessment.

Re-certification Course - This course is for those who have previously completed first aid training and is focused on the conduct of the assessment over one day.

Assessment Strategy
This course requires students to complete a variety of assessment activities.

  • Competency Observation (1).
  • Skills Assessment (1).

Location
This course is normally conducted in the workplace of clients.

Whilst Group 314 conducts training throughout Australia - this course is normally delivered in NSW in a range of metropolitan, regional and remote locations by mobile training teams.
