Be Prepared for the Unexpected with Wilderness First Aid Training
When emergencies happen in remote or isolated settings, the ability to provide immediate and effective first aid can be a lifesaver.
Our Wilderness First Aid course is specifically designed for those who may need to coordinate emergency and first aid responses in challenging environments, far from the resources of urban areas.
This course equips you with the advanced skills necessary to manage first aid medical emergencies in the wilderness, ensuring you're ready to handle situations where help might be hours—or even days—away. Through hands-on, scenario-based training, you’ll gain the confidence to act swiftly and effectively when every moment counts.
To ensure your skills remain sharp, the industry standard recommends refreshing this course every three years, with an annual update to the CPR component.
Course Information
This course requires the successful completion of:
- HLTAID011 Provide first aid
- SISOFLD004 Provide first aid in remote locations
- SISXEMR002 Coordinate emergency responses
This course is conducted in two modules:
- One day of e-learning for those that don't have a current first aid certificate.
- Four days of practical workshop.
SISSS00126 Wilderness First Aid
Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).
Statement of Attainment.

This course requires students to complete a variety of assessment activities.
Assessment activities include:
- Written knowledge assessments.
- Conduct of scenarios.
- Practical skills assessment.
Courses are conducted field locations around Australia.
Accommodation is normally basic camping in field locations.
Students must:
- Be at least 18 years old at the time of enrolment.
- Have an email address and access to a computer with an internet connection.
- Have good language, literacy, and numeracy skills.
- Complete a Pre-course Evaluation conducted by Group 314 to determine suitability for the course.
- Be prepared to participate in realistic first aid scenarios.
