Introduction

Dates

7-8 May 2025:
- RPL Assessment for Rafting – Grade 3 Rivers.

What to expect
We conduct high quality practical training on natural rivers with maximum participation. Depending on water levels, we ordinarily include trips down the river to maximise learning opportunities from a variety of river features. The Nymboida River has rapids up to Grade 4, but the dangerous rapids are portaged (walked around).
The training will be based out of the Nymboida Canoe and Camping Centre.
Students are required to organise their own camping arrangements and rations.
Swiftwater Rescue – SIS Outdoor Recreation
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to self-rescue and conduct rescues / recoveries on inland white-water rivers with rapids up to Grade 2.
The course is applicable to personnel who are required to operate on, or near, white water rivers.
The course is conducted over the first two days. Anyone wishing to gain further experience and practice technical rescue techniques can also attend the second two days of training.
