Swiftwater Rescue Training – Nymboida River

Dates

Group 314 has scheduled public Swiftwater Rescue courses on the Nymboida River over the period 19-22 February 2024.

What to expect

We are conducting courses for Swiftwater Rescue relevant to both the Outdoor Recreation and Public Safety context. Group 314 offer PUASAR001 and PUASAR002 units for public safety related personnel. As well as SISORSC004 and SISORSC005 units for individuals working on or around moving water.

We conduct high quality practical training on natural rivers with maximum participation.

Courses will be ran from Platypus Flat campground on the Nymboida River.

Swiftwater Rescue – SIS Outdoor Recreation

This course provides the skills and knowledge required to self-rescue and conduct rescues / recoveries on inland white-water rivers with rapids up to Grade 2.
The course is applicable to personnel who are required to operate on, or near, white water rivers.

Swiftwater Rescue (SIS) – Group314

Swiftwater Rescue – PUA Public Safety

These courses provide the skills and knowledge required to undertake Swiftwater and floodwater rescues and recoveries as a member of a specialist team.

Swiftwater and floodwater recovery involves the rescue of persons from fast moving water in areas such as stormwater drains, canals, rivers and/or creeks. It involves the use of a variety of rescue techniques with suitably equipped and responders entering the water.

SISSS00126 Wilderness First Aid (Canyoning Context) – Blue Mountains

Dates

Group 314 has scheduled a public wilderness first aid course in the Blue Mountains over the period 6-10 March 23.

What to Expect

We conduct high quality practical training with maximum participation.

This course will be orientated towards the canyoning context but is suitable for all outdoor leaders. Some of the training will be conducted in a canyon environment with realistic scenarios incorporated.

Full-Time Position in Wagga Wagga – Outdoor Leader

Group 314 is commencing 2023 by searching for another highly motivated person to join our team in Wagga Wagga for full time work as an outdoor leader. In addition, the role will include general training support to the operations of the Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

This is a traineeship position where nationally recognised competencies will be delivered for the conduct of a high ropes course with Army recruits. No previous qualifications are necessary.

The successful candidate must:

  • Display the required personal qualities and an aptitude for the role (the primary client is the Australian Army).
  • Have leadership skills and be able to work effectively within an energetic and professional team.
  • Have excellent writing skills and be able use MS Office programs.
  • Live in Wagga Wagga (accommodation assistance may be available upon request).
  • Have a current driving licence.
  • Possess a Working with Children Check.
  • Complete a Police Check prior to commencing work.
  • Have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
  • Complete internal training for ‘SISSS00123 Challenge Course Leader’ and ‘SISSS00121 Artificial Abseiling’.
  • Be passionate about adventure and facilitating adventure-based learning activities (training in facilitation will be provided).

Experience in the training sector is beneficial, but not mandatory. This role is suitable for someone who is fit, energetic, enjoys sport and likes working in the outdoors.

Further qualifications in Outdoor Leadership or Business Services may be available. Other opportunities for advancement within the company are available, such as becoming an outdoor leader in the rock climbing, caving, canoeing, white-water rafting, kayaking, bushwalking, etc. There are many opportunities for travel.

Full-Time Position in Wagga Wagga – Training Coordinator

Group 314 is searching for a highly motivated person to join our team in Wagga Wagga in a full time position (Mon-Fri, 8.00am – 5.00pm).

This position will predominantly assist in coordinating training and operations. This will also involve liaising with students and clients, working closely with Group 314 trainers and assessors, and managing course administration.

Opportunities also exist to obtain business management skills through our comprehensive staff development program. Where possible, nationally recognized competencies will be issued.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Live in Wagga Wagga (accommodation assistance is possible – please discuss if required).
  • Complete a Police Check prior to commencing work.
  • Have a current Working with Children check.
  • Be prepared to obtain a baseline security clearance.
  • Have a full manual drivers licence.
  • Have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
  • Display the required personal qualities and aptitude for the role.
  • Must have exceptional telephone and email communications skills.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and be able to learn and use web-based management platforms.
  • Must be able to work alone and unsupervised in an office environment.
  • Must be exceptionally organised and neat.
  • Preferably have Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (this is not mandatory).

Full-Time Position in Wagga Wagga

Group 314 is searching for a highly motivated person to join our team in Wagga Wagga in a full time position (Mon-Fri, 8.00am – 5.00pm).

This is a supervisor position to predominantly lead a team to conduct the high ropes for Army recruits at Kapooka. The role will also include the conduct of other Adventurous Training activities for Army personnel conducted in a variety of field locations in NSW.

Opportunities also exist to expand qualifications in Outdoor Leadership through our comprehensive staff development program. Where possible, nationally recognized competencies will be issued.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Live in Wagga Wagga (accommodation assistance is possible – please discuss with Group 314 if required).
  • Have Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership.
  • Have Wilderness First Aid.
  • Complete a Police Check prior to commencing work.
  • Have a current Working with Children check.
  • Be prepared to obtain a baseline security clearance.
  • Have a full manual drivers licence.
  • Have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
  • Display the required personal qualities and aptitude for the role (the primary client is the Australian Army).
  • Must have outstanding leadership skills and be about to lead an energetic and professional team.
  • Must be passionate about adventure and facilitating adventure-based learning outcomes.

Additional renumeration and responsibilities can be offered to a suitable application with Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Salary will be between $50,000 and $60,000 plus superannuation and allowances.

Full-Time Position in Wagga Wagga

Group 314 is searching for a highly motivated person to join our team in Wagga Wagga for full time work.

This is a junior position to assist in the management of an Army warehouse containing outdoor adventure equipment. For the right person opportunities also exist to obtain qualifications in Outdoor Leadership and to assist in the conduct of high ropes courses for Army recruits from time to time. Training will be provided by Group 314. Where possible, nationally recognized competencies will be issued.

No previous qualifications are necessary but the successful applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Live in Wagga Wagga (accommodation options are possible – please discuss with Group 314).
  • Complete a Police Check prior to commencing work.
  • Have a current Working with Children check.
  • Be prepared to obtain a baseline security clearance.
  • Have a full manual drivers licence.
  • Be physically capable of lifting and moving warehouse stock.
  • Be fully COVID vaccinated.
  • Display the required personal qualities and aptitude for the role.

The position is full time (Mon-Fri, 8.00am – 5.00pm).
