Civilian Accreditation for UATLs

After many years of working with the Army UATL community, Group 314 is now pleased to be offering a pathway for UATL civilian accreditation. We have mapped the UATL qualification to the Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership in three steps:

  • Step 1 – Recognition of Prior Learning for as many units as possible.
  • Step 2 – Recognition of Prior Learning for more units but with some additional experience and assessment requirements.
  • Step 3 – Gap Training and Assessment for the remainder of the units to meet the requirements of the qualification.

This qualification was announced in 2019 and is the current standard for work as an Outdoor Leader in Australia.

Detailed information on the courses, content and pricing is at: www.group314.com/courses/uatl-conversion/

Please contact us for more information or to discuss your personal requirements on 1300 448 799 or info@group314.com .

Workplace Fatalities

Tragically, another worker has lost his life today in a coal mine in QLD. Last year over 150 workers died at work. There are people doing dangerous work all over Australia to keep the country running. Whilst Australians are good risk takers, there are still too many people not making it home from work.

The fatality rate is improving though (the below image is from Safework Australia). This is through a lot of regulation, education and workplace effort. I hope we can all continue these improvements and work towards zero workplace fatalities.

Machinery operators and drivers make up the majority of the statistics.

Please take care.
