Recover Four Wheel Drive Vehicles

Course Description
This course develops competency to recover four-wheel drive vehicles.

The course will use a variety of campsites. Students are to bring their own camping equipment and rations.

Recovery equipment and vehicles will be provided (vehicle, winch, ropes, straps, pulleys, gloves etc.).

Students may bring personal vehicles and equipment, but it must pass an inspection by Group 314 prior to use.

Course Content
This course requires the successful completion of:

  • FWPCOT3260 Recover four wheel drive vehicle.

The course content is:

  • Day 1 - Demonstration activity. safety during recovery, equipment.
  • Day 2 - Winches and recovery techniques. Practice.
  • Day 3 - Assessment scenarios.
  • Day 4 - Assessment scenarios.
  • Day 5 - Assessment scenarios.


Recognition
Nationally Recognised Training ( NRT ) under the Australian Quality Training Framework ( AQTF ).

Certification Type
Statement of Attainment.

Course Fee
$1,500 ex GST (per enrolment)

Entry Requirements
Students must:

  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of enrolment.
  • Have an email address and access to a computer with an internet connection.
  • Complete a Pre-course Evaluation conducted by Group 314 to determine suitability for the course.
  • Must hold a valid provisional or open driver's license.


Duration
40 hours completed over a continuous period of five days.

Training Strategy
Training is provided using practical sessions whilst conducting recovery activities of four wheel drive vehicles.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Students are required to be employed in an Outdoor Leadership role and may have prior skills and knowledge in recovery four-wheel drive vehicles. RPL will be assessed and supplemented by gap and/or refresher training as required.
